MOTI PIIN DISPOSABLE VAPE DEVICE

$9.99

5/5

The MOTI PIIN disposable vape is a draw-activated, closed pod device that comes in ten distinct flavours. The PIIN is comparable in form and size to a cigarette but somewhat more extensive and heavier. The MOTI PIIN features a 320 mAh non-rechargeable internal battery and comes pre-filled with 1.6ml of e-liquid. You may also choose between nicotine salt with a concentration of 2% or 5%. According to the packaging description, the MOTI PIIN should last about 380 puffs.

You keep vaping till your device dies, and then you throw it away.

When you inhale, a tiny blue LED at the bottom of the PIIN lights up, which is a lovely touch. When it’s time to dispose of the PIN, the LED flashes three times. While this is a valuable feature, I was always aware that the PIIN would expire because the draw began to deteriorate.

What’s inside the box?

Only the MOTI PIIN! There’s no need to bother about a spare o-ring or a tiny blue screwdriver. The essential things in life…

The PIIN is packaged in a cellophane-wrapped cardboard box with a plastic sleeve that holds the pod in place. The pod’s top and bottom are coated in soft, removable silicone. Remove the silicone, and you’re ready to go!

However, there are two minor criticisms: there is no PG/VG ratio mentioned on the package, which is always helpful to know – mainly PG sensitive!

More significantly, they are single-use gadgets… If you’re like me and go through half a dozen of these a week, the packaging, plastic casing, and silicon sleeves may be a bit of an environmental issue!

Moving on to the MOTI PIIN, each device has a different colour depending on the taste, which is an additional pleasant touch. The PIIN’s top features a tiny black mouthpiece, which is typical for most pod-type devices.

There is a blue colour LED that lights up when you draw on the pod. It’s been years since early electronic cigarette copies did this, and it’s one of the things I miss about smoking! As previously stated, the LED flashes three times when the PIIN runs out of juice/battery.

The MOTI PIIN’s covering is of excellent quality and somewhat textured, making it pleasant to grip. Overall, I was pleasantly pleased with the PIIN’s design and craftsmanship. It’s very nicely built for a throwaway pod.

My go-to vape is the Iconic RDA with twin Clapton coils and a power output of 60 watts. Nothing and I mean nothing, brings me joy.

I was, however, pleasantly surprised with the MOTI PIIN. A good MTL (i.e. MOUTH-TO-LUNG) with a decent throat hit is exactly what you want if you’re attempting to quit smoking.

What struck out the most for me, though, was the taste and vapour production. I’m conscious that this may be due to my low expectations, mainly because this is a disposable pod. BUT the taste and vapour production truly surprised me.

MOTI gave us the 2% (20mg/ml) strength PIIN(s) to evaluate, and they were perfect for me. I haven’t tested the lowest strength offered, but it seems a bit too weak for medium-heavy vapers. Each MOTI PIIN lasted me around half a day of relatively active smoking, so there were no significant worries about battery life.

A few minor drawbacks: now and again, I’d take a draw and get nothing. There is no taste or vapour… This occurred at least 2-3 times on each PIIN I used, and I believe the draw triggered should be a little more sensitive.

I also found the tastes to be a bit too ‘icy’ for me, mainly while vaping extensively, though this is subjective.

Overall, I was pleased with the MOTI PIIN, and I’d even go so far as to say I was sad when each PIIN ran out. After years of vaping, it took me a long to get my mind around the idea that you toss the PIIN away when the battery/juice is out.

10 Flavors of MOTI Piin

MOTI was kind enough to give us all ten flavours available, and they did not disappoint. The variety of tastes offered impressed me the most; there’s something here for everyone.

Tropical mango: The Mango flavour was one of the finest I’ve ever had, and I’ve tried a lot! Packed with taste and an icy frosty undertone on the tongue. The tropical mango was a replica of the real thing! The strength of the koolada was the only minor disadvantage for me. After a few pulls, the cold kick quickly became overwhelming.

Jasmine tea: One of the most pleasant discoveries for me was this taste. The touch of jasmine tea struck the sweet spot just perfectly with its subtle flavour! This taste also had an iced bite, although it was much milder than some other varieties.

GRAPE ICE – I thought the grape taste to be a bit underwhelming. I like fruity e-juice, however, the grape ice fell short for me. The grape ice had a robust artificial flavour that left a strange aftertaste on the tongue! Again, the koolada was somewhat overwhelming, but the grape taste itself was the most incredible letdown.

MUNG BEAN – I have no clue what a mung bean should taste like. This taste was earthy, a little strange, but not terrible. This combination of flavours ran out quickly, which made me sad since I loved it! I can’t tell whether this was a real mung bean.

BANANA FROST – Another delicious taste. This is another PIIN flavour I would suggest since it is an authentic banana with a touch of koolada. The strength of the koolada in this taste was precisely right, complementing the banana flavour well.

MENTHOL TOBACCO — A pleasant mild tobacco taste with a refreshing menthol undertone. I’m not usually a lover of tobacco tastes, but MOTI got the tobacco-menthol balance exactly perfect on this one!

BLUEBERRY PARFAIT — A light blueberry taste with a hint of koolada. Recommended for those of fruity flavours.

YOGURT DRINK – One of the most out-of-the-ordinary tastes on the list. The yogurt drink was pretty pleasant, with a powerful fruity bite and a lovely chilly undertone. The taste was somewhat overwhelming for me, so this would not be an all-day vape, in my opinion.

Classic tobacco: By far the most delicate tobacco taste I’ve tried to date! I couldn’t put this one down, and it left me wanting more! I’m not typically a lover of tobacco tastes, but I’d purchase this one again in a heartbeat!

PINEAPPLE ICE – Stunning. From the first puff, I was hooked on its taste. It one of the most delicate pineapple tastes I’ve ever had, with a blast of koolada! My favourite taste, and one that I could vape all day, every day.

MOTI PIIN | Cost

Unfortunately, here is where I believe the MOTI PIIN falls short…

The PIIN was the lowest I could locate in Canada for $9.99 at Vapester Smoke Shop Ltd www.vapestersmokeshop.ca.

I got approximately a half-worth day’s of heavy vaping out of the MOTI PIIN, which is quite good for a throwaway pod. BUT, at the costs above, you could easily spend the same amount on smokes! This was an issue for me since one of the most significant benefits of vaping versus smoking is the cost savings!

ProssCompact

Holding it comfortably

Simple and straightforward to use

There is no leakage or spitting, and the taste and performance are excellent.

Pros: Excellent throat hit; decent battery life; cons:

Cost

It’s a shame it’s disposable.

MOTI PIIN | Synopsis

So, how did I feel about the MOTI PIIN?

When we were first approached to conduct a review, I was hesitant and reasonably confident I wouldn’t enjoy the MOTI PIIN. After years of using high-powered variable wattage devices, I expected the PIIN to be a big step down and fail to fulfil my nicotine needs.

BUT I have to admit that I was pleasantly pleased by how much I liked smoking the MOTI PIIN! The taste and vapour output were right on, the throat impact was spot on, and the battery life was adequate for a pod. With the possible exception of the grape ice flavour, all flavours may easily be my ADV (all-day-vape).

I only have two problems with the PIIN. The first concern is the possible environmental impact; if you’re a significant vaper like me, you’ll go through at least a half-dozen of these pods each week. That’s a lot of plastic trash…

The price of the particular MOTI PIIN is my only other significant worry. They’re new on the market so that the price may come down in the following months, but they’re priced too expensive to be used regularly in my view. Since I began vaping to help me stop smoking, I’ve saved much money, and I know this is a significant advantage for many smokers who want to make the transition. If MOTI wants the PIIN to take off, I would strongly consider lowering the price. Overall, the MOTI PIIN is a fantastic small disposable pod that I highly suggest!
